Jossie Pérez has a chance to make a name for herself in Boston Lyric Opera's production of Carmen on the Common. But the young and untested Puerto Rican singer faces a difficult challenge. The role of Carmen is considered one of the most demanding in all of opera, and a few days before the performance, Pérez still struggles with the singing, dancing, and acting. Will Pérez succeed in front of an audience of 70,000?

About the LA PLAZA Series: In Latin American Communities, the plaza is the cultural center of town - a place where people meet, where the community celebrates, and where ideas are exchanged. One of the nation's longest running television series devoted to Latino themes, LaPlaza offers viewers a vista into the Latino community through an eclectic mix of award-winning documentaries, cutting-edge music programs, and provocative in-studio interviews.
